Midwinter has completed all of the metas for Reins of the Drake of the East Wind! Congratulations everyone involved on the US 1st!

Midwinter has downed Al'akir and finished the first tier of raiding in Cataclysm. The killshot took forever to set up, but it's a masterpiece.

Overall, this has been an excellent tier of raiding aside from the occasional bug, and a huge improvement over ICC. While there were no fights at the Yogg-0/LK difficulty level, there were also no easy heroic bosses, and collectively this is one of the hardest tiers Blizzard has released. It's also a tier that has killed a lot of 25 man guilds, and it's a big achievement just to survive the three month grind and get it finished.

It's been a pretty successful period for us as a guild, and we've moved up 9 places from our heroic LK ranking. Along the way, we broke into the US top 10 for the first time in our history. As always though, we're aiming to improve in Firelands, and we're actively recruting exceptional applicants of most classes and specs.

Grats to everyone involved in our progression grind, including those not slotted for the final boss. See you all in 4.2.

Cho'Gall dethroned as we take the 11th US kill. Definitely the hardest fight of the tier so far and a big step up from previous bosses. Onto Sinestra!

Midwinter is one step closer to Sinestra after downing Ascendant Council on our second night of pulls.

This boss was something of a disappointment difficulty-wise, at least based on what we've heard from other guilds. Current gear levels and the recent nerfs really trivialised a lot of what used to be difficult about this encounter, and he pretty much fell over for us the first time we got a decent transition into p3.

On the plus side, our whole raid team played very well on both progression nights, and for once we killed a boss right when it felt like we should, instead of two or three nights later. On to Cho'gall now!

As always, we're recruiting exceptional applicants, particularly a mage, a resto druid, and anyone else who feels they could be an improvement over our current roster. If you feel you have what it takes, send us an application.

Thanks to a bugged Bastion of Twilight instance that left half our raid group locked to the wrong ID, we were forced to put some time into Nefarian and picked up a US #7 along the way. We're looking forward to the final push towards Sinestra now that Blackwing Descent is complete.

Stupid boss is dead. Took all of thirty minutes to learn and kill. Moving onto real bosses. Congrats to all the other guilds out there who got this pivotal progression kill.

After much hard work, defeating the twins now makes us 7/13 heroic modes!

It's been a good week thus far with three new hard modes down. Omnotron was defeated on our first night of pulls, with Magmaw and Chimaeron soon to follow tonight. Grats on 6/13 heroic modes completed! We're looking forward to the real challenges forthcoming.

Another week of progression brings us another kill with Heroic Maloriak on Monday night. This makes us 3/13 as we continue along the path towards Sinestra. We were hoping to be 4/12 but a disappointing 0.4% wipe on Chimaeron prevented that from happening. Maloriak was a fun encounter which tests your ability to interrupt, to not interrupt, and to execute a relatively long fight nearly flawlessly. We're happy to see him down and are looking forward to a big reset this upcoming week.

We have completed the Heroic Halfus and Heroic Conclave of Wind encounters during prior weeks' resets as well. Be sure to check out our youtube channel at the link shown above for the footage from each kill.

Got this guy down on normal mode, leaving us with plenty of time for a crucial Monday night fishing raid. That makes us 12/12 for 25 man normals, and we're on to hard modes after the reset. Big thanks to everyone involved in the progression race so far, including those who weren't in for Nef himself.

It's been a busy week for Midwinter, starting with a clean sweep of server first 85s and ending with 11 of 12 normal mode bosses dead. The highlights were Ascendant Council and Cho'gall, both of which are very well tuned in the 25 man format. Next week it's the real deal, with hard modes available to us in two instances.

We're still interested in exceptional applicants with a passion for hard mode raiding, especially a feral DPS and a warlock. Throw us an application if you have what it takes.
